A brief video taken before a Wedding at the weekend, It was at the Mill Hotel in Alverley, Bridgnorth. The video has been taken with a digital camera without a microphone so theres is no speech and i have added a backing track, really need to stop buying gear and buy a decent video camera (or do i?.. hmm) I set up around 11:00am as part of the arrangement was to provide backgound music during the meal, due to this the room is set out ready for the meal and speaches and the venue is light so there is no real lighting demonstration shown here. The room was changed between 6:00 - 7:00 for the function however being a ‘one man band’ i didn’t get a chance to film anything later on. For the meal, i set the moving heads up to throw a pair of nice pink/purple gobo washes on the celeing using freestyler and set the laser system to display a cutsom congratulatory message on the rear wall, “Congratulations to Rachel and Nathen Whitehouse, We wish you all the best for the future”. On the video this text appears to flicker, it didn’t appear that way in person, that is due to the laser scan speed and camera frames per second clashing. The day (and night) went very well, i actually really enjoyed doing it all. All this stuff seems to make Digital DJing a lot different from classiv vinyl DJing. Check out the full 3.5 hours DJ-Live-Set as well: www.berlin-mitte-institut.de 29th September 2008.
This is my gig log of Charima’s Sweet 16 party. I had to redo the vid and remove an intro track by “New Boyz - You’re a Jerk”. Pretty stupid but what are you gonna do?
Asian HAwk 2008 routine , not the best take but i gotta put it up Myspace.com/asianhawk myspace.com/thedisablists Scratching From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia “Scratching” is also a present participle of “scratch”, and may also refer to a form of street art Scratching is a DJ or turntablist technique used to produce distinctive sounds by moving a vinyl record back and forth on a turntable while manipulating the crossfader on a DJ mixer. While scratching is most commonly associated with hip hop music, since the 1990s, it has been used in some styles of pop and nu metal. Within hip hop culture, scratching is one of the measures of a DJ’s skills, and there are many scratching competitions. In recorded hip-hop songs, scratched hooks often use portions of different rap songs. [edit]Non-vinyl scratching CDJs, devices that allow a DJ to manipulate a CD as if it were a vinyl record, have become widely available. Vinyl emulation software allows a DJ to manipulate the playback of digital music files on a computer using the turntables as an interface. This allows DJs to scratch, beatmatch, and perform other turntablist maneuvers that would be impossible with a conventional keyboard-and-mouse. Scratch software includes Final Scratch, Mixxx, Serato Scratch Live, Virtual DJ, M-Audio Torq, and Digital Scratch. There are lots of scratching techniques, which differ in how the movements of the record is combined with opening and closing the crossfader (or another fader or switch, where …

www.hollywooddj.com In this video a vocal sample is loaded into the left deck while mgmt’s “Kids” (Soulwax Remix) is on the right deck. Cue points set on the right deck allow one-shot drumming via quick hits of maschine’s buttons. Rafik then brings in a self-made guitar sound using a Beatmasher and Gater effect controlled via the X1.
