David Cakes buddy Claire Lomax shares her story after battling with cancer and she performs a ‘Hippy Chick’ version and ‘The Movie’ version of Forever Free composed by David Cakes. Liverpool guitarist Tony Rubio accompanied Claire’s vocals, with David Cakes on Tambourine. David Cakes co-produced this acoustic version of ‘ Forever Free’ with Billy Kinsley (Liverpool Express / The Merseybeats. When Dave & Claire met in 2001, he felt that Claires strong & emotional voice was perfect for this version of the ‘Forever Free’ that he originally wrote in 1999….. In 2002 BBC Radio Merseysides Roger Phillips interviewed Claire & David Cakes about Forever Free shortly after Davids Dad Roy had sadly passed away after a long battle with Melanoma skin cancer. In 2008, Claire herself was diagnosed with Hodgkins Lymphoma Cancer and she fought her own long battle against her illness, and she became an inspiration to us all.
