Dstyles is taking it easy and having fun in this vid. The ‘other guy’ reminds me of myself when I scratch, i.e. “truly only worth about 2-3 mins worth of scratching”, because after that…. “all my techniques” are used up.
Not sure why this guy was picked to scratch beside D-Styles as he’s no where near as talented as D-Styles.
I’ve followed D for a while & this is arguably the best skratching you’ll ever see or hear from him over an electro beat…save for the shit on Pharohs of Funk. I have the Private Stash that this is on…the commentary from the Junkie Crew is some funny shit. Someone should post that.
Yeah, they live pretty comfortably. They get money from albums, dvds, sponsers, exclusive equipment, break beats, & a lot of other shit. Have you seen Q
s newest pad. A 3 story skratch mansion…is that enough proof that these guys are making a good living?
I don’t know about the States but in the UK a DJ like Q-bert can command between £1000 and £2000 a show. That on top of all that Siesmic mentions… Yeah they’re comfortable.
Fact: The only people that talk shit about
DMC Dj’s and turntablists are haters that
wish they had those skills.
Both of these guys are very good, D-Styles
just happens to be the old schooler.
The thing is D already knows how to beatjuggle,and with his dexterity-if he put in a little effort he’d be just as competent as Kentaro at it.But,let’s look at this objectively, D-styles is 36 years old;he has been djing;experimenting with techniques;and creating scratch techniques(techniques that we all use)for over half his life.Kentaro on the other hand is a 26 yr. old kid. Of course, Dstyles is going to be able to best him on the strength of experience. Let’s see Kentaro at 36.
